Vancouver, British Columbia
Uncovering authentic local finds and having experiences that make you feel like you’ve really connected with a place are important elements in ensuring an extraordinary vacation. We’re taking advantage of our partnership with Travel + Leisure to get their editors’ recommendations and insider tips on the places you will want to visit. Here are their picks for just one of the 150 destinations they covered.
Gastown
The city’s most historic neighborhood is known for cobblestoned streets lined with happening restaurants, bars, and boutiques. Order an avant-garde cocktail at speakeasy-style Diamond (di6mond.com) and creative tapas at the tiny Judas Goat Taberna (judasgoat.ca).
Granville Island
Under the Granville Street Bridge, the city’s indoor/outdoor public market is flush with farmers and food artisans selling everything from fresh oysters and loose teas to heavenly chocolates. Surrounding shops include Artisan Sake Maker, where owner Masa Shiroki sells handcrafted rice wine, and the Umbrella Shop, for that Vancouver weather essential.
Stanley Park
The 1,000-acre spread of temperate rain forest occupies the northwest end of the city’s downtown peninsula. Almost completely surrounded by water, the park remains mostly wild; exploring its inner trails among giant ferns and towering cedars is a nature lover’s nirvana.

Kailua Kona, Hawaii
This was once the seat of power from which the great King Kamehameha ruled his island empire. Located on the picturesque Kona Coast, where some of the world's best coffee is harvested, Kailua-Kona is close to the marine sanctuary of Kealakekua Bay. This snorkeling haven is also home to the Captain Cook Monument.
Lahaina (Maui), Hawaii
The most prominent feature of Maui is Haleakala, the world's largest dormant volcano. And from the historic town of Lahaina, you might also witness one of nature's greatest spectacles: the annual migration of humpback whales returning to their winter feeding grounds, which takes place between December and March.
Celebrity Solstice
Celebrity Solstice® is one of our more decorated ships at sea. So it's no wonder that it's full of "firsts." Like the first Lawn Club at sea. The first Hot Glass ShowSM. The first cruise line to have 5 women, also known as "the Leading LadiesSM" redesign, and redecorate the staterooms. Some other things that set the Celebrity Solstice cruise ship apart are its specialty restaurants. Our passion for outstanding cuisine has taken the restaurants, the food and the overall dining experience to a whole new level in the cruising world.
But staterooms and specialty restaurants are only part of this ship's charm. Celebrity Solstice also has the AquaSpa® by Elemis® and fitness center, where you can pamper yourself with spa treatments or push yourself in a workout with one of our trainers.
If only life on land was as good as life on Celebrity Solstice.
